Gothenburg, Sweden
1st Prize ex-aequo Premis AJAC VIII for architects under 40 in Catalonia
Category: un built projects in urbanism and landscape
Project objectives: Re-introduce the Göta river to the
citizens by means of a urban re-generation; the river seen as a green system
connected with the existing landscape while providing the citizens with new
riverfront areas for enjoyment. A set of urban interventions at different
scales in the city of Gothenburg to regenerate and connect the existing
fractured urban tissue (mixed use strategies), create a cohesive city, connect
green spaces and re-utilize some of the industrial heritage
structures(cranes)as active pollution and decontamination control
devices(riverbed sucking pipes system).A series of sensors located on the
cranes will inform the city about the different pollution levels and sea level
rises, the internet of things applied to existing industrial infrastructure.
