J2J is an international architecture firm based in Barcelona that works across the fields of architecture, urbanism, landscape design, and research. Principal

Architect Javier Fernández Ponce (1977) is an innovator and creative thinker of strategies & designs which explore the relation between people, space, nature and technology. He's passionate on how to use space proactively to improve society.




Registered architect in Barcelona (COAC),
MAA-Master in Advanced Architecture , IaaC , Barcelona (full scholarship), Postgraduate degree in Project Management and Architecture Degree Tecnológico de Monterrey,México. 

To date, Javier has gained experience with architectural firms worldwide. This includes working with internationally acclaimed Norman Foster + Partners (London),  Foreign office architects-Alejandro Zaera-Polo, Nikken Sekkei and as intern at Shigeru Ban Architects (Tokyo).

Javier has been the recipient of some prestigious awards including the AJAC awards for architects under40 in Catalonia and more recently the Premis Ciutat de Barcelona 2019 (architecture & urbanism category).The work has been exhibited at DHUB Barcelona and MoMa NY, among others.
